Happy Earth Day

---

We celebrate Earth Day on April 22. Some of us might observe this auspicious day by turning off our home applicance for an hour or more. But did you know that we can celebrate Earth Day everyday? How?

It is very alarming that the fate of Mother Earth and our existence is in the hands of the elites who control food sources and food production. How are we going to reclaim the power and spaces that allow us to live safely and not harm Mother Earth?

The answer to all these questions  is Agroecology! Agroecology allows farmers to be involved in sustaining proven agricultural practices and developing new ways to produce food without endangering Mother Earth. Instead of entrusting our lives to greedy agro industrial corporations who are bound to feed us with GMOs, we believe that our farmers will embrace the challenge of producing enough food while respecting biodiversity and lowering carbon emissions.

We invite you to take some time to read these highly recommended reports and initiatives that are included in our rich database.

Should you find this update useful please do us a favour of forwarding it your friends, colleagues and members of your family.

We wish you a happy Earth Day!

Sincerely,

The Agricultural Transition Team

The Agricultural Transition websites was created by a common effort by many organizations. We want to show the wide range of sustainable agricultural practices, and that peasants and other small scale food producers and providers can nourish a growing population, preserve the environment and contribute substantially to stop the climate change. We also want to contribute to develop policies and actions for a viable food future. The list of some useful reports on policies and links to other webpages are parts of that effort.

To develop this webpage and make it a useful tool for the transition of agriculture, we need contributions from individuals, organizations and institutions. Please send articles, reports, links etc you would like to see on this webpage: [email protected]. The administration of this webpage is managed by the More and Better Network  on behalf of all organizations which are involved.

We are very grateful for the financial support which made it possible to create this webpage. Many thanks to The Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad)The Development Fund (Norway) and Heidehof Stiftung (Germany).
